Pregnancy Symptoms

Pregnancy symptoms be different from woman to woman or pregnancy to pregnancy; but, one of the most important pregnancy symptoms is a delayed or missed menstrual cycle.

Understanding the signs and symptoms of pregnancy is important because every symptom may not be related to pregnancy.

Some women experience signs or symptoms of pregnancy within a week of conception.

Other women, pregnancy symptoms may develop over a few weeks or may not be present at all.

The interesting thing is that the symptoms are easy to identify even if it's your first pregnancy. The common symptoms of early stages of pregnancy are:

Tender or swelling of the breasts
This is frequently the first pregnancy symptom. The reason for this is because your breasts have started preparing for breastfeeding. At this point estrogen flows into the breasts and progesterone hormones make your breasts and nipples tender. This is often very painful.

Missed period
If you have missed your period, then you could be pregnant. By purchasing a pregnancy test kit and carrying out the test to manufacturing guidelines you can confirm your pregnancy. Alternatively you should go to your doctor immediately regardless of the outcome of your test to consult medical assistance. There might be some other cause for amenorrhea (absence of menstruation). Please Note
If your pregnancy test shows negative results despite the pregnancy symptom, then consult your doctor for the cause of the discussed symptoms. They might be the signs of some disease.

Morning sickness
Morning sickness may occur any time of the day. You could feel nausea with or without vomiting. This happens due to high estrogen level. The common foods that cause morning sickness are coffee, spicy foods, and dairy products.

Tired or exhausted
At this stage your body has to work double hard to withstand the pressure and changes occurring in it. Your hormones are and the heart comes under pressure to deal with, in the small matter of nourishing the growing fetus. The main reason why one can feel extreme tiredness or dizziness in the beginning of pregnancy is the high level of production of progesterone. Your body now needs extra hours of sleep before you give birth.

Mood Swings
Some women get irritated easily. This because there are high levels of hormones entering the body leading to unusual emotions behaviour.

Spotting and or cramping
It is not uncommon to notice a spot of blood on your panties, then you might be pregnant. Spotting happens in the early stage of pregnancy, about 10-14 days after fertilization, due to implantation. The fertilized egg gets implanted in the lining of the uterus. You may also experience cramps that are similar to menstrual cramps. These occur at a very early stage because the uterus is expanding to accommodate the embryo. Some other symptoms maybe frequent urination, increased basal body temperature, headaches, and constipation.
